Meet Leila

Hi I’m Leila, founder of MyOva and mum to two brilliant boys.  MyOva was not created in a boardroom. It was born from one of the lowest points of my life.

I was diagnosed with PCOS at 19. I remember sitting in the doctor’s office, being given a diagnosis and then being sent away with no real plan. No roadmap. No meaningful support. I was also told I might never have children. At that age, it felt like my future dreams of having a family had been crushed.

For years, that fear sat quietly in the background of my life.

When my partner and I started trying for a baby in my thirties, everything became very real. Falling pregnant was difficult. Staying pregnant was harder. I had six miscarriages. On my fourth loss, I lost a baby at 18 weeks.

The doctors ran every test available. In the end, I was told it was bad luck and that I should keep trying.

Statistically, very few women experience recurrent miscarriage. Even fewer lose a baby after 16 weeks. I found myself in both categories. It felt relentless. I withdrew from friends. I developed social anxiety. Baby showers and pregnancy announcements became unbearable. I started to believe my body was broken.

After my fourth loss, I decided I needed to understand what was happening inside my body. PCOS is closely linked to insulin resistance and egg quality, so I immersed myself in research. I wanted evidence. I wanted data. I wanted answers.

That’s when I discovered myo-inositol.

The research was compelling. Study after study showed its impact on ovulation, insulin sensitivity and egg quality in women with PCOS. Yet hardly anyone was talking about it. And in the UK, it was difficult to access in a simple, consistent format.

That frustration sparked an idea.

If I was struggling to find evidence-based support, how many other women were too?

MyOva started with a single product and a very clear mission: to give women practical, research-backed tools to take control of their hormonal health.

Over the past decade, that mission has grown beyond anything I imagined. We’ve supported thousands of women with PCOS, fertility challenges, pregnancy, PMDD and menopause. Hundreds of our customers have gone on to fall pregnant. We’ve won national awards, including Hip & Healthy’s Best Pregnancy Supplement and Best Hormonal Health Supplement. We became the first PCOS brand to be sold on the high street and in Boots.

Today, I’m the mother of two boys. Something I was once told might never happen.

What I’ve learned through this journey is that a diagnosis is not a full stop. Women deserve more than “wait and see”. They deserve information. They deserve evidence. They deserve options.

MyOva exists for the woman who feels unheard, dismissed or left to navigate her hormones alone. It exists to give her clarity and control.

Building this company helped me rebuild my own life. It helped me move beyond anxiety and isolation. It gave me purpose when I needed it most.

If you’re here because you’re looking for answers, I understand that feeling deeply.

And I want you to know this: you are not powerless. There is always something you can do.

With love,
Leila x
